Daryn Pittman hails from Owasso, Oklahoma, and now resides in Danville, IN. He grew up racing and developed aspirations of becoming a professional racecar driver very early on. Progressing at an accelerated pace through the ranks of Quarter Midgets, Micros, and later as a family-owner of a 360 with the ASCS series, Daryn got his first full time shot on the World of Outlaws tour in 1999.
Pittman joined Kasey Kahne Racing in 2013 to pilot the #9 Great Clips/Sage Fruit/ASE entry on the World Of Outlaws tour. With Kale Kahne as his crew chief, Pittman dominated the WoO circuit, bringing home eight victories and the first WoO championship for himself and Kasey Kahne Racing. He led the point championship from the first race of the season to the finale, becoming the first driver to ever accomplish that feat. Pittman followed up his championship season in 2014 with 14 wins, 50 top-five finishes and completed the season second in the championship standings. In 2015, after missing a couple of races due to injury, Pittman finished the season third in year ending points. In 2016, the team rebounded with 8 wins and second in the points standings. 2017 was a rebuilding year for the team, and ended with a fourth in the point standings.
Daryn has recorded over 72 career World of Outlaws career victories, and has won 20 various feature events in Australia. In 2008, Daryn captured the famous $50,000 to win King’s Royal title at Eldora Speedway, becoming one of only six drivers to win both the King’s Royal and Historical Big One.
The 2018 season looks to be filled with new opportunities; Justin Adams will be returning as the full time crew chief and the team is debuting Ionomy as their primary sponsor.
