Mandy’s Monthy 2015
Hello All!
Happy New Year!
Well it’s crazy that the WOO season starts in less than a week! Daryn is currently in Charlotte fitting his seats and making the final touches on the car before they leave for Florida on Sunday. The boys will race the All Star races at Volusia as a practice sessions for the WOO races next weekend. It is nice to have those races to hopefully get all the kinks worked out before the first points race of the season. Volusia is a tough place. Time trials are always super close and there are a ton of cars! I will be watching the races on Dirtvision this year as our new Baby Girl is due at the end of the month. We are hoping she will at least hold off until Daryn returns. Fingers crossed for good results in Florida and for the Baby to wait on dad to make her appearance!
Although the WOO season starts next week we have been busy racing since the beginning of January with the Chili Bowl and the Down Under Tour. I hope each of you got a chance to watch the Chili Bowl on Mav TV…if you didn’t please look it up and try to watch it. Chili Bowl is hard to explain to someone who has never gone but it really is a race that should be on everyone’s bucket list. There were over 310 entries this year! Daryn did a great job and definitely had one of the fastest cars and as he was getting ready to pass for the lead a few lap cars spun in front of him and he had to stop….bummer! I think it was going to be a great race! Daryn did battle back to a respectable 6th place finish. Although bummed about spinning we were all excited for Rico to win his first Chili Bowl!
Next up for Daryn was the Down Under Tour in the Aprile Racing USA 9. Daryn finished 3rd, DNF – due to a junked race car in the heat race, 3rd again and I think 6th on the final night. The track looked like it was going to have a great surface for the feature and then they had a 2 hour rain delay. The feature ended up being pretty much follow the leader, but the track did a great job just getting the race in.
I am excited about 2015 and can’t wait to see what the season will bring. The KKR team is ready to race and compete for the WOO Championship!
Hope to see everyone at the track this season!
