Happy New Year!
Well it is hard to believe that almost a month has passed in 2014! Race season has begun despite freezing below normal temperatures! I am beginning to wonder if I live in Indy or the frozen tundra! I promise I will not complain when it is 100 this summer!
I hope everyone had a great holiday season and will have a prosperous New Year!
The New Year started off quiet at the Pittman household…no big parties just a night at home with the family! After we celebrated the New Year it was off to Tulsa for the Chili Bowl! It is a great event and if you have never been please put it on your bucket list. It is honestly like a family reunion in the middle of winter with all your racing friends! We had a great time watching all 4 nights as Daryn raced on Friday- the racing every night was spectacular as it usually is at the Chili Bowl! Daryn ran 4th Friday night in a stout field of 74 drivers from all areas of racing. Daryn’s finish on Friday set him up to start on the pole of the B Main on Saturday. He ran 3rd in the B and transferred to the A Main of the Chili Bowl! We were very excited as there were over 287 entries! We finished 7th in the A Main after starting 17th…pretty good week for us! It was a great time with good friends. Special thanks to Bob Hurley Ford, Hop & Sack Convenience Stores, BPG, American Bank of OK, MHC, Danny’s Auto Salvage, Factory Kahne, and Sooner Circles for their support! Also, BIG THANKS to Ray, Derek, Bob, Dave & Tina for keeping everything ready to go all week! Thank you very much!
Daryn is racing in Australia this week at “The Classic” which is their version of the Knoxville Nationals. Aprile Racing has him a great team and car lined up! Good Luck Boys!
Even though it is -3 outside now we will be beginning our USA sprint car season in less than 14 days in hopefully sunny and hot Florida! I am ready to get started and I know the team has been hard at work all winter.
