Mandy’s Monthly!- July

Well…it has been a month and it feels like a week since I wrote my last monthly. Since we last chatted we have raced 18 times in 30 days and traveled from Iowa to New York to PA to Maryland and now home again!! We are headed that way as fast as we can get there – I have not been home since the last monthly. We will be home for 2 days – yahoo! Then it’s off to La Salle, IL to race the Todd Hepfner – Hepfner Racing Products car for the WOO shows in IL and WI.

The last month has been good to us again 4 wins! – we have won the All Star race at Fonda, NY ; the Racers for Kids Charities at Knox, PA; the PA Speedweek Mitch Smith Memorial at the Grove; and the PA Speedweek finale at Selingsgrove Speedway just last night. Taylor loves victory lane and grabbed the flag at the Grove and she still carries it around in the motorhome! She must know how much her daddy loves those flags. We have every one of them! I hope our luck continues all the way through the Knoxville Nationals. Daryn and the #27 team have gelled well are clicking off good results nightly and everyone gets along so well. Thanks to the guys for working so hard: Mike, Jimmy, Randy, Shawn and Brandon!!!

The last month we have had a few issues though—the motorhome!! Can’t live without it but when it does not work right – ugh! First, we had an exhaust leak. Daryn patched it and then Jimmy welded it up later. Then, the air conditioner worked but no power for 3 days which meant no tv or hairdryer. Thank Goodness Taylor’s dvd can be plugged into the cigarette lighter! Daryn fixed that then the generator stopped working so no air conditioner – not good! Thanks to the Riders for allowing us to stay at there house while the motorhome was fixed at Keen’s . Also, thanks to Marshall for squeezing us in at Keen’s and helping Daryn find the problem – Batteries!  Anyway, knock on wood we are cruising just fine now and everything is working!! 

Taylor is as wild as ever now. She is non stop and I think she drinks Red Bull before we go into the race track each night. She does not want to be still at all! It is ok as long as she has somewhere to run but when I am trying to sell shirts and watch her it is a bit tough. Thanks to all the people who help keep an eye out for her and help me out! Taylor has met more friends and has a blast everytime we head to the track. She is now running especially when I want her to come back to the blanket! Anyway, I am happy she is active and a lot of fun – tiring fun but fun!!

Daryn’s new shirts have come in and I have them in black, white, and hoodies. I did not mean for this shirt to be every car that Daryn had ever driven, but I did leave off a few very important ones - #47 Gil Sonner Casey’s General Store car was Daryn’s first ever WOO ride and #25 Pete’s Bridge Street Motors. I promise when I do the anniversary shirt I will include those – sorry! Thanks to all the fans who stop by and say hello in the infield and who purchase a shirt. We really appreciate your support!

The next three weeks we are in 3 different cars – HRP car for La Salle, IL ; Beaver Dam, WI; and maybe Cedar Lake, WI. - then the Tom Buch #13 for the Brad Doty Classic, the King’s Royal, Lernerville, and New York – the #27 Mike Heffner for the Grove WOO shows. Hopefully we can continue our winning ways while car hopping at the same time!!
