Mandy’s Monthly!- June

Well, if you have not heard we are the 2010 Keystone Cup Champion!!! YAHOO!!

We have been on the road this entire month in the motorhome in PA with Taylor. It’s back to laundry mats and lunch on the go! I would not trade it for the world! Taylor absolutely loves racing! It is so funny to watch her at the race track. She hears the sprint cars and wants to watch. She waves that little hand and mumbles her own little language. She yells “Da! Da!” it is so funny. It is so nice in PA where a majority of the race tracks have a grassy infield for spectators and their families. She eats hot dogs like they are steak, plays ball, runs around, and hangs out with her new friend Grayson Buckwalter. I am usually worn out at the end of the night. I bought Taylor her first sprint car at Lincoln the other night and she loves it. It is a pull back cheapie one but she carries it everywhere. It is number # 88 – we tell her it is Poppy’s car. She is definitely non-stop now days – it is great!

She even got to victory lane 3 times this week! She was overwhelmed the first night, but has quickly adapted to victory lane well. She wants to touch the top wing numbers as soon as we get there. She loves the #27 silver reflective numbers. It was so nice to be back in victory lane and see my husband so excited. Daryn even did 360’s after the race at Lincoln. It was a great sight to see! He is enjoying racing again and believes in himself again. Motorhome driver, babysitter, Crew chief, and sprint car driver ….he can wear all kinds of hats in our family!!

This month we have visited 2 zoos in PA. Zoo America in Hershey, PA was very nice. Taylor enjoyed feeding the ducks. Taylor and I then took an adventurous drive to the Leighton Valley Zoo close to the shop. It was great. She feed the goats, birds, and even played in the creek. I also took her swimming at the guys hotel during the Keystone Cup Week. It was her first time in the swimming pool this summer and she enjoyed splashing the water everywhere.

As we chat we are headed down the road for a night at home, to do laundry, and then we head out to Kville Wednesday for the WOO show in the #13 Tom Buch owned machine. I sure hope our hot streak continues there as is it our tune up for the Knoxville Nationals in August. We will be back in PA the following week in the #27 Lelands.com machine for the All Star shows at the Grove, Lincoln, and Big Diamond.

Thanks to the fans for their support in PA, on the message boards, and all over the country!!

THANK YOU!

I will have a tshirt soon that has the sprint cars that Daryn has driven in the last 10 years. I’m even thinking about putting a question mark on one car…ha ha! Duffle Daryn, as he has been named by a friend, has his bag and will travel!

May we all keep the Hockett family in our thoughts and prayers ! Jesse was an amazing racer!!!
