Mandy’s Monthly!- May

I know it’s amazing that my blog is actually on time for once. Me and Daryn and Angel (the dog) are driving home as we speak …in the rain! We had a weekend away in PA as Nana watched Taylor for the weekend.

Daryn drove the Lelands.com Mike Heffner owned #27 sprinter. We both had a great time – thanks guys!! Daryn was in charge of the race set up and got out of the car most of the time smiling! Our pill draw pretty much dictated our whole night, but the car went forward both nights. Daryn was comfortable from the get go and although 11th and 12th place were not what we were shooting for he felt he learned a lot this weekend.

Next up for us is Eldora in the #13 Tom Buch Indy Race Parts car and then the WOO show at Grove and Virginia after that who knows. Be sure to check the site as I will update our schedule and the car we will be driving! While jumping around car to car is not exactly what someone has in mind when putting their yearly goals down you always need to make decisions that are best for you personally and your family. It is imperative that you surround yourself with people that believe in you and people that you get along with. The split from the #17 car was mutual but all endings and beginnings are hard. After spending as much time as racers and families do with car owners (Mr. Jesse and Miss Lorraine) and crew (Jonesy, Pickles, Pete, & Rabbit) you do get attached and all change is hard. We wish the the Keen team the success they deserve!

Special thanks to Mike Heffner and Tom Buch for the opportunity to drive their race cars. Car owners often get overlooked and are under appreciated but without them there would be no racing. Thanks Guys!

I would like to thank all the fans for the support via email, message board comments, and phone calls. We truly appreciate the support! I have no idea what our schedule will be or where we will end up, but it is ultimately not even up to us but where the Good Lord places us! Hope to see you soon at the track!
