Mandy’s Monthly!- April

Hello everyone!  I am so happy that spring is finally here!  It is so nice to be able to go outside with Taylor!    Since we last spoke the Keen boys headed out for the western swing with the WOO.  The results were ok …not great not bad just ok!  Taylor and I took our first plane ride together to go see Daryn race in Texas.  She did great!  She did not cry a bit on the plane and did fine.  I was worried about her ears for nothing….I should have known since she is a natural born traveler!  It was nice to be back at the races.  Her Nana watched her each night so she did not go outside too much as it was chilly. Although at Houston we parked the motorhome by the fence and you could see the whole track so she did get to watch her daddy race.

After the TX races we had Taylor’s first birthday party.  Plenty of family came in for the big event.  We went to Chucky Cheese for lunch and had her party at the house that evening.  She loved Chucky from about 5 feet away but not at all up close!  Her party went great!  She got a ton of gifts and wanted to play with each one the moment she opened it.    She dug into her birthday cake, but once she got her hands sticky with icing …she was done.  (Just like her dad!!  Mr.Clean!)

Bulls Gap was her first weekend outside watching daddy!  She did well and fell asleep during the heats and feature event, but as soon as the fireworks started she was up and clapping and holding her hands up.  I told Daryn she did not like watching the races only the fireworks!!

Since the Tennessee race  Daryn has been traveling back and forth from Indy to PA for the races each weekend.   It gets lonely on the weekends, but Taylor keeps me busy.  I got really spoiled with the WOO having Dirtvision every night, but its back to waiting on text messages from friends at the track!  Thanks Wop, Julie, Mrs Lorraine, and Stef!    The results have again just been ok.   Hopefully things will get better soon as we start racing a lot in May.

Big news at the Pittman house-- Taylor just started walking this week!  She stands up on her own and then she’s off.  It is cool to watch but nerve wracking as she is still really wobbly and I worry about her hitting her head.   Mother’s worries never end!  She also got a battery powered 4 wheeler for her birthday which she loves.  She goes wide open until it hits something then yells for someone to come turn it around.   She is learning something new everyday….we are working on a nap schedule as we speak!  Ha!

Taylor and I hope to be in PA at the beginning of May! Hope to see everyone then!
