Pittman Pumped for the Ironman Tour!

Daryn Pittman raced the most winged sprint car races of any driver in 2009, and he hopes to do the same in 2010.  “Our schedule is not finalized yet but it looks like we will race about the same number of events with the Keen Motorsports #17, including about 14 more World of Outlaw shows than last year.  It looks like we will be doing a hit and miss schedule racing all over the country and hitting the bigger paying events.  I think I raced about 109 times last year and this year I would like it to be the same but with one change:  more wins!” said Pittman.  The “Ironman Tour” is what the schedule for the Peterbilt team is being nicknamed.  Criss crossing the country to over 15 states from January through to November and hitting the race track over 100 times is truly an “Ironman Tour.”   The Keen team will begin their season in Florida this weekend and be racing almost every weekend from now until November.

Keen Motorsports and Daryn Pittman will make their 2010 debut this Friday and Saturday with the All Stars in Ocala, FL.  “I am excited to get the season underway.  Crew Chief Matt Anderson , Jonesy, Pickles and all behind the scenes crew have worked hard this winter preparing the car and we are all ready to get going.  I am really excited about the Goodyear tires because it is a fresh start.  I feel everyone is starting from scratch to try to make these tires work with their set ups and I feel this will work to our advantage” stated Pittman.

The #17 team will spend the next three weeks in sunny Florida racing with the All Stars and the World of Outlaws.  “Florida is some of the most competitive racing of the year.  There are always huge car counts and qualifying is very important each night.  We have worked hard this winter to improve our qualifying efforts and a goal we have in Florida is to qualify well each night.  Another goal is to be competitive every time we hit the track and to be standing in victory lane at the end of the night.  I know that my car owners, Jesse and Lorraine Keen, have given us everything we need to get the job done and I hope our team is standing in victory lane for them,” said Pittman.
