Mandy’s Monthly!- January

Hello! Well it’s that time of year again….race season. (actually it never really ended for us since dp raced 2 midget races this winter!) As I write we are headed to what I hope is sunny and warm Florida.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2010 brings you success and happiness!
Daryn & I brought in the new year at home with Taylor. Actually Taylor was asleep and we were not far behind her! It was an early night because she was teething and was cranky all day and night. She got her second tooth a few days later! We headed to the Chili Bowl on Jan. 6 on icy roads in Missouri, but after 10 long hours we finally arrived. Traveling in the motorhome is getting pretty tricky with Taylor. She is not a big fan of her car seat right now and wants to go go go. She enjoyed her first Chili Bowl. We only took her out 2 days, during the day only, and then she went home with Nana. Even though she was not there a long time she was a big hit. She started walking in her car walker while we were there the first day and would creep into the aisle and then wave to people as they passed. The next day she came she got in the midget and was standing in Daryn’s seat holding onto the wheel and would not get out! She pitched a big fit but was totally content standing there holding onto the wheel laughing and waving to people. It was very cute and something tells me she is going to really like race cars! Imagine that!!
Daryn raced on Friday at the Chili Bowl with not so good results and ended the day early on Saturday, but the A main was probably the best Chili Bowl race I have ever seen!! Sammy Swindell was simply amazing! It was a great race throughout the entire 50 laps…Congrats to Kevin on picking up his first Driller trophy.
We headed back home Sunday and Daryn headed to PA on Tuesday to go over the car and put in his seats. The off season went by so fast and it really doesn’t seem like we were even home that much, but I am ready for the race season to begin. I am really looking forward to Florida for hopefully warmer weather and to take Taylor to the beach and of course SUPERBOWL oh and the racing too!! Go Colts!! Daryn and I are season ticket holders and it made me sick to sell my first round of play off tickets because of Chili Bowl, but I did not miss a play as we rigged up a tv in the trailer!!! We did make it to the Championship Game on Sunday. It was so loud in Lucas Oil Stadium that you could not hear yourself think! I was nervous at first , but then my boys got their act together and started playing the way the Colts can and will in Miami! I plan on going, but we will see if I can find a babysitter while Daryn races!!
GO COLTS!!! And Let the Race Season Begin!
Thanks Everyone!
