Keen Motorsports & Daryn Pittman Season Wrap Up!
With the 2009 racing season coming to an end and the holidays fast approaching the Keen Motorsports Team and Daryn Pittman have a lot to be thankful for: a safe and successful season. Since joining the #17 Peterbilt team at the end of May; driver, Daryn Pittman has 58 starts, 4 wins, 18 top 5’s, and 36 top ten’s.
“Since joining the Keen Team I feel that we have built a strong team. I think it took a little while for the team to gel and find what works for us as a team. Since switching to the Maxim Chassis I feel our results have been more consistent,” stated Daryn after reflecting on the season.
The team celebrated in the winner’s circle this season on 4 different occasions at two different tracks. The first win came at the famed Williams Grove Speedway on the July 3rd at the Mitch Smith Memorial. “It was a tough field of cars at every Speedweek show. We were good that night and everything seemed to fall into place. The win gave the team the momentum it needed to get us through the busy weeks of the summer schedule” stated Daryn. The second win of the season was an All Star Circuit of Champions race in Franklin, PA on July 19th. It was the first All Star win for Daryn and the Keen Team. “I remember that night very well. We were fast from the time the green flag flew in the feature. The guys gave me a great car and it was nice to end the night in victory lane,” stated #17 driver Daryn Pittman. The third and fourth win of the season both came on the same night at the Williams Grove triple 20s and the Jack Gunn Memorial. “At the triple 20s it was our first night with the new Maxim and to win two of the three races was definitely a good start. We started 5th in the second feature and the car was really good. I was comfortable from the beginning and we raced through the field pretty quickly. To celebrate twice in victory lane in one night is something I had never experienced. Everyone congratulates you and then you must get focused for the next feature,” said Daryn.
The team ended the season at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway racing their way into the main event both nights after poor qualifying efforts. “We were happy to make the feature at Lowe’s but still not happy with our qualifying effort. Overall I feel that the 2009 season with Keen Motorsports was a success. I need to thank Jesse and Lorraine Keen for providing me the opportunity to drive for such a professional race team. I also need to thank the crew: Matt, Jonesy, and Pickles for their hard work and dedication to the team. This sport is a big team effort and everyone must work together to be successful. The team is already hard at work preparing for the 2010 season. We hope to come out in Florida and qualify well every night and be a contender for the win right out the box,” Daryn stated.
Keen Motorsports and Daryn Pittman would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support: Hunter Truck Sales, Peterbilt, and Shell Rotella T. Please stay tuned to www.keenmotorsport.net and www.darynpittman.com for the 2010 schedule.
