Mandy’s Monthly!- April
Well, it seems that I have jinxed us on the rain so I am not going to say anything bad except…I wish it would stop! :) We have raced only 5 times in the month of April! We have had 6 WOO races and now 9 rainouts!
Everyone is bored! The boys continue to fly their airplanes and reorganize everything again!
We raced Pevely and ended up with a 7th place finish. The fans are awesome there and I always look forward to any Pevely races. The track was a lot different than the normal Pevely conditions, but it still ended up being a great race. We hoped to do better there, but were just a little off.
The next weekend we headed to Eldora and there we were a lot off! We finished 15th but Daryn looked and said the car felt horrible so last few weeks they have been scratching their heads trying to figure out our problem. We tested with a few other teams at Kamp Speedway in Boswell, IN during the week and found out a few of our problems there. Hoping to test the boy’s philosophy out we headed to Attica for a local show on 4/ 18. We started 5th and finished 2nd. Daryn drove all night to get back to the shop (we got home at 5:30am after the car wash) in order to leave town at 12 for Haubstadt, but that WOO race was cancelled too due to rain.
So this past weekend we were ready for the second overnight trip in the motor home and then Huset’s got snowed out! Snowed out in April! Daryn & the boys headed to Attica (finished 2nd again) and I stayed at home. The plan was for them to drive all night to Kville and for me to leave Saturday morning with the motor home and tshirt trailer too just meet them there. It was going to be my first trip alone with the motor home and tshirt trailer, but we rained out Kville too. So…another alternate plan B… go to Eldora for the All Star race. We timed in 6th quick and finished 2nd to Joey Saldana. Schatz was third and Steve Kinser 4th. We were actually really happy with our results. The car looked fast, Daryn felt comfortable, and we were competitive again…back on track!
We are very happy to have Bingo back for a few weekends! He is a very hard worker and just brings the team stability. Thanks Bingo for returning even if it is only part time! :)
Well, the votes are in and we will have a new paint scheme for the Nationals! If anyone would like to pre order a diecast or crew shirt please email me or you can purchase them on the site. The colors will be totally un Titan like! Keep checking the site for more information the closer we get to Nationals!
Next weekend we start our May days…13 races in the month. We will be exhausted….not really! I am ready for a road trip! Well, hopefully next month we will have some travels to talk about instead of boring shop talk!
